Last Updated: 9 September 2026
CapeRise Technologies (Pty) Ltd ("CapeRise Technologies", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to providing our customers with quality technology products and a reliable online shopping experience.
This Return & Refund Policy applies specifically to purchases made through the CapeRise Technologies online store.
By placing an order through our online store, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Return & Refund Policy.
1. Returns
We accept returns where permitted by this policy and applicable South African law.
Products may be returned where:
-
The product is defective or faulty.
-
The incorrect product was supplied.
-
The product was damaged during delivery.
-
The product does not correspond with the description provided on our website.
-
The product qualifies for a return under applicable consumer protection legislation.
-
CapeRise Technologies has otherwise agreed to accept the return.
All returns are subject to inspection and verification.
2. Change-of-Mind Returns
Where permitted by law, CapeRise Technologies may accept returns for products that are no longer wanted or were purchased in error, provided that:
-
The product is returned within 7 days of delivery.
-
The product is unused and in its original condition.
-
The product remains in its original packaging.
-
All accessories, manuals, cables, components and other items supplied with the product are included.
-
Any security seals, where applicable, remain intact.
-
The product shows no signs of use, damage, alteration or installation.
Certain products may not qualify for change-of-mind returns due to their nature, including products that have been activated, registered, installed, configured or otherwise used where returning the product would compromise its resaleability.
CapeRise Technologies reserves the right to refuse a change-of-mind return where the product does not meet the above requirements.
Where a change-of-mind return is accepted, the customer may be responsible for the cost of returning the product.
3. Defective or Faulty Products
If a product develops a defect or is faulty, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Products will be assessed to determine whether the issue is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, applicable consumer protection legislation, or another applicable remedy.
Depending on the circumstances, CapeRise Technologies may:
-
Repair the product;
-
Replace the product with the same or an equivalent product;
-
Provide a refund; or
-
Provide another remedy available under applicable law.
Some products may be subject to manufacturer warranties and warranty procedures. Where appropriate, CapeRise Technologies may assist with facilitating a warranty claim with the relevant manufacturer or distributor.
4. Incorrect Products
If we have supplied you with the wrong product, please contact us before using or installing the product.
Where the incorrect product was supplied due to an error by CapeRise Technologies, we will arrange an appropriate remedy, which may include collection or return of the incorrect product and delivery of the correct product.
The incorrect product should, where reasonably possible, remain unused and in its original packaging.
5. Products Damaged During Delivery
Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If your product has been damaged during delivery:
-
Take photographs of the damaged product and packaging.
-
Keep all original packaging and shipping materials.
-
Contact CapeRise Technologies as soon as possible.
-
Provide your order number and photographs or other relevant evidence when requested.
We will investigate the matter and determine the appropriate remedy.
Failure to report visible delivery damage promptly does not necessarily affect your statutory rights, but prompt notification helps us resolve delivery claims more efficiently.
6. Refunds
Where a refund is approved, the refund will generally be processed using the original payment method used for the purchase, where technically possible.
Refund processing times may vary depending on the payment provider, bank or financial institution.
CapeRise Technologies is not responsible for delays caused by a customer's bank or payment provider after the refund has been processed by us.
Where applicable, refunds will be made in accordance with the customer's rights under South African consumer protection legislation.
7. Return Shipping Costs
The responsibility for return shipping costs depends on the reason for the return.
Defective, Incorrect or Damaged Products
Where the product is confirmed to be defective, incorrectly supplied, or damaged due to circumstances for which CapeRise Technologies is responsible, we will generally cover reasonable return and replacement delivery costs.
Change-of-Mind Returns
Where a return is requested solely because the customer has changed their mind, selected the incorrect product, or no longer requires the product, the customer may be responsible for the return shipping costs.
Return shipping arrangements will be confirmed with the customer before the return is processed.
8. Products That Cannot Be Returned
Returns may not be accepted for products that:
-
Have been damaged by misuse, negligence, accident or improper handling.
-
Have been physically damaged after delivery.
-
Have been altered, modified or repaired without our authorisation.
-
Have been improperly installed or configured.
-
Have been exposed to liquid, excessive heat, electrical damage or other environmental damage.
-
Are missing essential components, accessories or packaging where these are required for the return.
-
Have been activated, registered, licensed or otherwise permanently associated with a customer account where cancellation or resale is not reasonably possible.
-
Are software, digital products, licences, activation keys or other electronically supplied products where applicable law permits exclusion from return.
-
Are customised, specially configured or specially ordered products where applicable law permits exclusion.
-
Are otherwise excluded from return by applicable law.
Nothing in this section limits any rights that a customer may have under applicable South African consumer protection legislation.
9. Manufacturer Warranties
Certain products sold through our online store may be covered by a manufacturer's warranty.
Manufacturer warranty periods, conditions and procedures differ between products and manufacturers.
A manufacturer's warranty does not replace or limit any rights that the customer may have under applicable South African law.
Where a warranty claim is required, CapeRise Technologies may request information such as:
-
Order number;
-
Proof of purchase;
-
Product serial number;
-
Description of the fault;
-
Photographs or videos demonstrating the issue; and
-
Other information reasonably required to assess the claim.
10. Proof of Purchase
A valid proof of purchase may be required before a return, warranty claim, replacement or refund can be processed.
Your order confirmation, invoice or other transaction record may be used as proof of purchase.
11. Return Process
To request a return, please contact CapeRise Technologies through the contact details provided on our website.
Please include:
-
Your full name;
-
Order number;
-
Product name;
-
Reason for the return;
-
Date the order was received; and
-
Photographs or other supporting information where relevant.
Do not send products back without first contacting us and receiving return instructions.
Unauthorised returns may experience delays in processing.
12. Return Inspection
Returned products may be inspected and tested before a refund, replacement or other remedy is approved.
Inspection may include checking:
-
Product condition;
-
Serial numbers;
-
Accessories and components;
-
Packaging;
-
Physical damage;
-
Signs of misuse or installation; and
-
The reported fault or issue.
Where a product is found to be functioning correctly and the return does not otherwise qualify under this policy or applicable law, the product may be returned to the customer.
13. Refunds for Promotions, Discounts and Bundles
Where a product was purchased as part of a promotion, discount, bundle or special offer, the refund amount may take into account the promotional terms applicable to that purchase.
Where returning one item from a bundle affects the eligibility or pricing of the remaining items, CapeRise Technologies may recalculate the applicable pricing where permitted by law.
14. Sale and Clearance Products
Sale, discounted and clearance products may be subject to specific terms disclosed at the time of purchase.
A discounted or clearance price does not, however, remove or restrict any mandatory consumer rights that apply under South African law.
15. Exchanges
Where appropriate and subject to product availability, CapeRise Technologies may offer an exchange instead of a refund.
If the replacement product has a different price, the applicable difference may need to be paid or refunded, as appropriate.
Exchanges are subject to the same applicable return requirements and legal rights described in this policy.
16. Consumer Protection
CapeRise Technologies operates in South Africa and aims to comply with applicable South African consumer protection laws and regulations, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, as amended.
Nothing in this Return & Refund Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or waived.
Where a provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory requirement of applicable law, the applicable legal requirement will prevail.
17. Fraudulent or Abusive Returns
CapeRise Technologies reserves the right to investigate returns that appear fraudulent, abusive or inconsistent with the customer's purchase history or the circumstances of the transaction.
This may include, where permitted by law:
-
Repeated returns involving signs of misuse;
-
Claims involving products that have been materially altered or damaged;
-
False or misleading claims;
-
Attempts to return products that were not purchased from CapeRise Technologies; or
-
Other suspected fraudulent activity.
This does not affect legitimate consumer rights.
18. Processing Times
We aim to process return requests and refunds as efficiently as reasonably possible.
The time required may depend on:
-
The nature of the return;
-
Product inspection or testing;
-
Manufacturer or distributor assessment;
-
Courier arrangements;
-
Payment provider processing times; and
-
The availability of replacement stock.
Customers will be informed where additional time is reasonably required to investigate a return or warranty claim.
